Anyone interested in a collaboration ?

Hi, I have a few ideas for some Open Source characters. I'm wondering if anyone is interested in collaborating? it can be as a co-writer or simply as someone to bounce ideas off as I write the stories.

I'm so busy with so many other projects that I don't think I'd have time to co-author anything right now.

However, you can definitely bounce ideas off me. I'm very creative about coming up with new spins on things, I'm meticulous about maintaining consistency in world building, I'm supportive of good ideas, and I am brutally honest if I don't think something is going to work with a general audience.

That sounds like a plan, I would like to do something with Cosmic Custodian - already started the story and have had some art provided by a few friends.

What's the best way to send you some ideas argosail?

You can bounce ideas off of me if you want. Can't guarantee I'll be quick in answering, but I can give you the "behind-the-scenes" ideas I have about CC.

I also find it hilarious that every costume redesign I've seen is better than my originals

Just right click to download my avatar. The complete animation is only like 7KB. There is more elaborate Astro-Man stuff in the works, but I agree, it's nice to see him move!

Well it's just as I thought - I'm about 8000 words in to the story and roughly half way through my idea - when I've ground to a halt! Arrrgghhhhhh!

It's going to be a novella rather than a comic book. About 18 months ago I decided that producing prose with illustrations was the way forward rahther than waiting months/years for art, plus it is quite costly for a writer who can't draw.

I'm about half way through at the moment. I will probably finish it in next 6-8 weeks then I will go over the rough draft so I would say it will be about May before we have it up and running

If it goes well I might be able to get a few artists interested in doing a strip.

Just as an update. I'm 13000 words in to the Cosmic Custodian story now. It needs wrapped up and then I will need to tidy up my rough draft. Have hopefully done the character justice.

Wow, the model is awesome! Is this complete or is he working on the lower half? I can't wait for the action figure line.

After looking at your site and seeing how far you are progressing on developing the Cosmic Custodian character, I think it's definitely about time to do my own artwork and add him to the Free Universe site.

Now, here's a question for you and you can talk it over with Lee...you guys have embellished the design of the character with some original design features, not included in Yzz's simple microhero depiction, such as the circle within the triangle on his chest. You and Lee own those modifications. The question is, would you like me to incorporate your unique design features in my art for the Free Universe site, thereby advertising them as open source features that others can also draw? This would make other visual depictions of the character more consistent with your depiction. Or would you like your version to be unique looking? If you prefer your version to be totally unique for marketing reasons, it is totally understandable. But, if you're fine with others borrowing the design, I think your version is pretty cool looking, so I'd use it.

Argosail - I think I might have felt a bit more precious about the character if it was mine but as I've just borrowed it from Yzz's version then I am happy for anyone to incorporate the idea's we have used

Cool, then I'll be adding original art for Cosmic Custodian and Flux. Thank you for helping to expand the public domain. (By the way, I realize it's been a while since I updated the sites, but only because I've been stock piling a ton of cool stuff).

Anywho, I'm loving your work Scott. Lee's visuals are also super cool.
