Hello all. My name is Yeredh and I'm an artist with a longtime interest in comics. I'd intended to begin posting to this forum a year ago, and then when that didn’t happen I was going to start around the turn of the year. Such the procrastinator is me. But alas it's August 2013, and here I am. I have no idea how often I’ll post here, perhaps with infrequency. Every now and then I find myself anonymously contributing to PDSH.wikia.com and I really like the fact that such databases have been established as they are excellent information repositories and research tools.
A bit about myself. Uh.. I'm probably very boring as an individual. What can I say. I'm in my thirties and reside in North America. For years now I've been privately re-exploring various public domain characters and Golden Age concepts with an aim at generating webcomics; however I've yet to release.. ANYTHING. Though I plan too! There are probably around a hundred ideas in my head at any given time. Works in progress, you understand. I suppose that I can be rather fastidious concerning the meticulosity of a comic book story's conceptual development, which can greatly slow down my production even to the point of cessation. As Adrian Monk would say, it's a gift & a curse. Also on a side note, hardly worth mentioning really, I was exiled from Cardassia by the Finance Ministry for failure to pay my taxes-- and I've never even heard of the Obsidian Order, let alone visited their main offices in Lakarian City… Currently I'm watching Person of Interest on CBS, still listening to '90s music, and I read PKD and cyberpunk on occasion. I think Shane Carruth's Primer is likely the best time travel movie ever crafted. I don't care for the "new" Star Trek direction, I don’t play video games, and I'm suspicious of social networks and smartphones. I’ve an affinity for olde fashioned film noir-esque photorealistic line art as employed in comic books & strips during the mid-to-late 20th century, such as that of the late Al Williamson.
Amongst the characters that I’ve been re-developing are the Blue Beetle and his sidekick Sparky. If Dynamite Entertainment can do it, why can’t I. Although my approach is probably more original than what is customarily expected with regard to Dan Garret(t). I’ve never exactly been fond of DC’s version of “Blue Beetle”. I’m also re-inventing Mekano the robot… but that’s a top secret project for now thus I’ll state nothing. ;-) Additionally, as I’m still constructing a website, I’m afraid I don’t have any examples of my work available just at this moment. Eventually I’ll have something ready for exhibition and will be sure to post it here first. One supposes that you people are at the forefront of those who would have an interest in Dr. Fung’s further adventures. *L*
Anyhow I’d thought I would simply introduce myself.
