| I've been a fan of the PDSH wiki for a long time but I'm pretty inept when it comes to wiki editing so I haven't really contributed before. But after a conversation with a friend about the open source character movement I've decided to let loose some evil character ideas I've had bouncing around my head for a few years. Now I don't have any real drawing ability so I've been testing out some various character building sites. I'd love to hear your thoughts and ideas. Please feel free to use these characters, to me there is something great about knowing someone wants to play in your sandbox for a bit. First up is CHARLES NECROMANSON. Charles is originally from a twisted parallel universe where Helter Skelter was a prophesied race war between Warlocks and the Mundanes. Charles was the last survivor of his Earth after he unleashed terrible beings from beyond space and time to win the war. Using his arcane magics he set off to find new worlds and new magics to take for himself. BAALZEBITCH. Alexa Pond was an innocent teenager that happened to dress a little different. Her dark clothes and music made locals afraid of her. So when a young girl in her hometown was brutally murdered she was quickly found guilty despite being innocent and having a concrete alibi. Hopeless and alone in prison she gave herself over to true darkness and offered herself to any demon that would help her escape. She became a bride to a demon claiming to be the Devil himself. In return she was given demonic powers and control over the vermin that infested the prison. She took the name BAALZEBITCH, an insult used against her in high school, and began her real life of crime. Eventually being recaptured numerous times across the country her influence spread and a nation wide prison gang has followed in her foot steps, the SISTERWIVES OF SATAN. THE SPIDERWEB WOMAN. The Spiderweb Woman is but one avatar of a unknowable creature trapped between worlds. The human tongue has many approximations of its true name but the two most heard are XANOLETH and XIANOLET. Some scholars believe she is the inspiration for the tale of Sleeping Beauty as legends say her touch can lead to sleep for a hundred years as she eats her victim slowly starting with the body and somehow ending with the preserved conscious mind. | |

| Some really cool and wildly evil ideas here, Joe (and some punningly funny names!).
And the hero generator sites are great to get pics if you have no artistic abilities; I use 'em myself!

| Charles Necromanson is genius, and the Spiderweb Woman is very creepy. | |

| Some pretty creepy horror stuff. With a little tongue and cheek. I can see the Spiderweb Woman as the standout of the 3 here. She feels like she has some pep in the concept | |

| I'd like to see Mr Crisis without the trenchcoat, and maybe just called "Crisis"? | |

| Here he is without the coat. I just had a thought. I was eventually gonna get around to putting Mr Crisis up on the PDSH wiki. Since he's open source if you were to use him and put your twist on him as Crisis and that was open source, would that get a separate page on the wiki? How big does a change to derivative characters need to be to make it a new character? | |

| IMHO, the original version gets a page, other versions wouldn't (unless they were like some of the old re-coloured, re-named versions). Thanks for the new pic. | |

| You're right about dropping the Mr, I just did some googling and I can't find any comic characters actually named Crisis. I'm actually really surprised. | |

| That is a surprise. Violent mercs are always cool though. | |

| Okay, so I'm having some trouble deciding which characters to make in heromachine and post on here. So I need a little push. If there are specific character types or powers you'd like to see let me know.
I worked as a creative consultant for two years pitching characters and i have a notebook that has 55 pages of unused characters with 28 characters per page. So if you have no preference pick one number from 1 to 55 and another number from 1 to 28.

| Grauballemanden (The Grauballe Man) The Grauballe Man was known as Ulrik, a Germanic Shaman in 3rd century BC, Denmark. He was caught attempting to invoke the Dark Gods and his heresy was not tolerated. He was executed, having his throat cut, and thrown into a bog that was mystically sealed until archeologists discovered him and released him in the 1950's. | |

| Do you have a preference to mystical based characters? I see a theme in most of those you post. I'm not knocking the theme itself, just wondering if you find more creativity in that than sci-fi-ish types. | |

| honestly, its weird because I normally am not really interested in magic powered characters. I prefer street level and super soldier types but for some reason when it comes to posting them I've been sticking to magic. I'll try and mix it up a bit though.

| Joe,
Of the notebooks of characters you have, how much detail do you go into with them? A paragraph or so, or ..?
(I've been attempting to do some world building, and have a rough idea of the 'good guys', just the villains are a problem.)
How about 44/18? | |

| Just the names in the main notebook. I'm not an artist so I try to start with a name and build off of that. When I write them down I like to have a vague sense of what the character might be. Although the intent I had with the character when I wrote it down isn't iron clad. For example, The Burn and Crisis were heroes in my mind for years until I actually designed the characters on heromachine. Volkssturm. (The People's Storm) Volkssturm was one of the last superhuman efforts of the Nazis. His super strength, flight, and control over thunderstorms were powered by the collective consciousness of the German people. He had the possibility of being an incredibly powerful being but as the German Army fought a losing war, the will of the people suffered and his power disappeared. | |
