May use Astro-Man soon

Been awhile since I've been to this fun site. Since I had a minimal hand in creating Astro-Man, I've wanted to use the character.

Well, I think I may have the opportunity to do just that, with potentially hundreds of people to see; possibly more.

I am active on another comic book based website, Comic Vine. I hope that isn't considered spam mentioning it. If its Ok, I go by the username of Decept-O on that site.

Well, I've been active there lately, in fact I have been writing and illustrating a comic strip called "Red L.A.M.P. Up To No Good" for the site. I am not getting paid, it is just a free and fun thing to do. I utilize the alter-egos of the Staff who run the site, and also include some regular members who have been elected "Community Stars". All with their permission. Thus far, it has been well received.

Well, I thought I might find a way to introduce Astro-Man to the Comic Vine site via my comic strip. I have some ideas in the back of my noggin' how to do it.

So please reply or email me or just visit the site and look for me in the Artist Forum or by my username.

Sounds cool; I'll have to check out Comic Vine and look for it. Astro-Man was created before I joined the board, but I always thought he was a neat character (and I keep waiting for another character-creation jam, but so far no luck!). It would be cool to see him used somewhere.

I was thinking that we should start a creation jam for an urban vigilante type hero and/or a sorcerer hero.

Either one works for me... Somebody start it up and I'll see what I can contribute!

Astro-Man will be appearing soon like I previously stated, but I may change a few things around regarding his appearance and back-story but not too terribly much, really. Just some minor adjustments.

Not trying to spam for that site, just wanting to let anyone know that Astro-Man will hopefully make his first official comic strip appearance in May/2011!

Awesome...I look forward to seeing it....and don't worry about advertising on this site. This site is as much about supporting the endeavours of independant artists as it is about anything else...and we are grateful for your role in creating Astro.

Regarding the use of Astro-Man on Comic Vine, well, I have found I am unable to do it at this time simply because I don't have enough of it....time. I had been doing my strips on the site, but I found I have been denying opportunities to sell my artwork elsewhere. The strips were fun, but I couldn't justify doing them any longer, at least for now.

It is possible I may "re-launch" the strips and/or Astro-Man on Comic Vine in some way or another. It is frustrating because I had some people who enjoyed what I was doing and was hoping people would get a kick out of Astro-Man.

While those strips have been removed by me, I do hope to utilize some public domain characters for more sketches and sketch cards.

Just wanted to post about it, hated to do it but felt it necessary.

I hope you find an outlet for your comic strips.
