| Would it be fine to mass-produce and sell soft toys featuring public domain cartoon characters? If so, what public domain cartoon (anthropomorphic) characters would be most suitable ("safe")?
All shared thoughts appreciated. | |

| There are a number of anthropomorphic animals that would make good plush toys. Although there are tons of characters in cartoons and comics that have yet to be documented, you can check some out on: http://pdfc.wikia.com/wiki/Public_Domain_Funnies_WikiJust be aware that you need to be careful about advertising them using trademarked names. For example, you could do a Felix the Cat doll, but you probably shouldn't call it Felix. Maybe sell it under a name like, "The Curious Cat" or something like that. Same story with Ragedy Ann herself. You can make a doll that looks like her, but the name is trademarked. | |
