| The Rook is a pulp-inspired hero that appears in a series of books from a Wildcat Books, a small publisher of the "new pulp" genre. I have the first book, but haven't had a chance to read it yet (although I'm looking forward to it). In any case, the latest release (vol 5) promises "a gathering of heroes." Based on the cover, some of those heroes who are gathering are from the public domain: Black Terror and Tim, Flame, and Miss Masque.
