Hey, Argosail, I somehow missed your photos; they look great! I'd be interested in seeing YouTube adventures of Mr. Monster if you ever had the time to follow thru on the idea!

Any luck finding a new host for The Free Universe? I'm waiting w/baited breath for the next update...

Bard, after comparing free web hosts, I think I found a good one...but for some reason it only let's me upload about 3images at a time...with 300-400 images, I need a full afternoon to do this and I justhaven't had time...but it will be relatively soon I hope...

I'd like to do at least 1 episode of Mr. Monster, but it may take a little while...my plans are moderately ambitious...

Okay great dude...I finally did it. I got the Free Universe a new home and updated with 5new profiles: the femme fatales Granite, Thrilla and Minxy Sphinx AND 2 new alien races: The Disc Men and the Voltans! Check them out and let me know what you think! More to come in the next few weeks!

There does seem to be a slight issue with the editor inserting weird characters next to other special characters, but I'll try to get that resolved. What's good about this particular server is that it meets all of my needs, plus it's been around for at least 5 years, so it's not a fly-by night and shouldn't disappear anytime soon like the last one did (it also has no login requirements, which gives me peace of mind.

Looks GREAT, Argosail! Good to see the site back; I really missed it!

And if nobody else has said it (or even if they did) thanks for all the hard work you put into the site, between the research, the writing, the artwork, and just dealing with stupid computer/Internet problems, it's quite a task. I think your problem is that you make it look easy! But your efforts are much appreciated.

For the last two years, it's been like a second job I don't get paid for, but I really want people to know how cool these characters can be and make this universe of shared characters as popular as the corporate backed DCU, Marvel, etc. Still lots of work to be done, but it will be worth it in the long run!

You know, argosail, I didn't want to overstep my bounds, and the site is obviously a labor of love. However, if it's that much work, let me offer whatever help I can give you. I do writing and editing professionally, and can do basic Web design, so if you need help putting things together or writing things up, or if you just want an extra set of eyes before you post stuff, I'd be happy to help lighten your load...

Wow, thanks Bard, I appreciate the offer. Vagrant made a similar offer, to help do some of the writing on charactee bios (he just sent me a bio for The Shield). Now that I've got the site up and editable, it should be much easier to do regular updates. Just spreading them out as I complete the character art and write up their bios. (Which, of course, requires me to scrutinize the old comics...which is just fun). I will let you know if I get in a crunch again.

Today, I've updated with Astro-Man, Battle-Cry and Cosmic Custodian!

Open-Source ABCs? Here's hoping Definativeguy, Deadlight Hollow, En Razu or Fantastic Jack make the cut for the D, E, F update Also, once I'm reunited with my computer I'll be doing some more PD bios for you. Got myself a big list of the ones I want to work on, like American Crusader, Doc Strange, Ghost Rider, Clock and Magic Agent.

Great updates Argo, looks like the site is filling up nicely. Your version of Cosmic Custodian looks cool.

Just to echo what Bard said, thanks for the hard work you've put in.

Thanks Transmooky...i tried to reconcile as many features as I could of the various Cosmic Custodian images. Ithink the results are pretty unique.

It will take a while before I get to do art for all the open source characters displayed, described or invented on these boards, but hopefully I'll get around to the best ones.

Nope...it's gonna be a surprise! I've already mentioned a few, but I'm having some technical difficulties (computer problems), so it might be a few weeks before I post new characters...

In the meantime, if you look on the Heroes and Villains page, I've set up a link to a page called "Famous Public Domain Characters" which has a HUGE list of links to just about every major PD character from literature that I could think of...

Personally I'm looking forward to seeing some group bios like the Deadly Dozen, New Furies or Hades. I know Iron Jaw will be one of the Dirty Dozen, but look forward to seeing who number 12 is.
